The Home Builders Federation’s Future Talent Conference returns on 27 February 2025 at a new venue, with a new one-day format.
The event brings together industry’s ambitious early talent – including trainees, graduates and degree apprentices – for a packed day of insight and activities to support them in their careers.
The interactive conference programme features a mix of workshops, panel discussions and perspectives from leading industry experts.
Attendees will deepen their understanding of key challenges and opportunities facing the industry and enjoy a platform to engage with industry peers outside of their day-to-day roles.

Workshops
Building a positive reputation
Rianna Fry, HBF
This interactive session will introduce participants to the importance of reputation management and the role of communication in building, protecting and enhancing corporate reputation. Attendees will explore the key factors that influence reputation in the digital age, review case studies of reputation management done well, and draw lessons from examples of it done badly.
Through group discussion and hands-on exercises, participants will review opportunities to strengthen the home building industry’s reputation and reflect on their roles in shaping public perception.
BNG from policy to delivery
Rachel Danemann, HBF
This workshop considered the implications of the introduction of mandatory Biodiversity Net Gain policies on development. From site selection, allocation, design and delivery BNG will impact your scheme. This workshop considers what factors you need to take into account and when.
Future Homes Standard
The Future Homes Standard workshop will be hosted by The Future Homes Hub. The Future Homes Hub brings together the partnerships needed to deliver on the new home sector's climate and environment plan. In September 2020, the Future Homes Task Force was set up to develop a long-term delivery plan for the sector in line with the Government’s legally binding net zero and wider environmental targets.
Networking reception
The conference will conclude with a networking reception, so delegates can build valuable connections and grow their professional networks.
All delegates are welcome to stay for the networking reception which is due to finish at approximately 18.30.
