The Housebuilder Awards 2023 - 31st October, InterContinental London - The O2

Keepmoat was hailed Large housebuilder of the year at The Housebuilder Awards 2024 last night, as the industry came together to celebrate the best in the UK new homes sector.

The Doncaster-based housebuilder took the prize for an all-round performance which saw the firm become Highly Commended in two categories - Best regeneration for The Rise in Scotswood, Northumberland, and Best design for four storeys or more at Cable Wharf, Ebbsfleet.

It was also a finalist in the Best Staff development category for its Dare to Lead programme, and Northeast social value manager Geoff Scott was shortlisted for the Housebuilder Star Award.

Comedian Katherine Ryan hosted the event – the 20th Housebuilder Awards - which was attended by 650 guests at The InterContinental London - The O2.

London-based housing association Peabody was declared Medium housebuilder of the year, having won the Best regeneration initiative title for its St John’s Hill scheme in Clapham.

Small housebuilder of the year was North Yorkshire’s Brierley Homes, which builds around 100 homes a year. The firm fought off all competition to win the Best design for three storeys or fewer category for Whorlton Meadows scheme in Swainby.

The Hill Group’s Lucy-Ann Wallace was crowned this year’s Housebuilder Star. Wallace, who joined the business as a trainee site manager in 2020, was lauded for displaying “star quality”, becoming an influential figure for driving inclusivity and change at Hill and the wider industry.

Taylor Wimpey was winner of the Best Sustainability initiative award for its extensive Future homes trial, Sudbury. Redrow achieved a win in the Best customer satisfaction initiative category for its Harnessing customer feedback approach. The Flintshire-based housebuilder also won the Best marketing initiative award for From placemaking to playmaking.

Weston Homes landed the Best refurbishment project award for Gun Hill Park in Aldershot. Vistry was triumphant in the Best community initiative category for its Virtual work experience programme.

Bellway scooped the Best staff development award for A workplace where everyone is welcome. McCarthy Stone’s The Old Market Village in Wimborne made it winner of the Best retirement scheme award.

And Barratt London was victorious in the Best design for four storeys or more category for Ridgeway Views in Mill Hill.

Eco2Solar was named Subcontractor/services provider of the year. AES Sustainability Consultants swiped Product of the year for its AES HUB & SiteView.
