NEW PART L GUIDANCE AND THERMAL PROPERTIES TOOL FROM THE CONCRETE CENTRE

In response to Part L 1A 2010, the Concrete Centre has researched and written a practical guide to compliance, focusing on the broad range of concrete and masonry solutions available. The study underlying the guide involved detailes SAP modelling of standard dwelling types, using a combination of cost effective fabric and services options.

In addition to 2010 compliance, some low cost solutions for achieving the anticipated 2013 and 2016 Part L targets are also included. Alongside all this, the guide provides a commentary on recent changes to SAP and Part L, plus an extensive table of wall and floor constructions containing detailed U-value and thermal mass related information.

Many of the values included in the table were calculated using the popular Arup/Concrete Centre thermal properties tool, which is free to download from the Concrete Centre website.
