The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015
(CDM 2015) came into force on 6 April 2015, replacing CDM 2007. These
regulations legislate that all construction projects must be carried out, from
concept to completion, in a way that secures health and safety.
This includes a responsibility on the principal contractor
to prevent unauthorised access to site, and to work with other contractors to
physically define the site boundaries using suitable barriers.
SafeSite Facilities has a range of safety barriers and
traffic management solutions for directing traffic flow and managing vehicle
and pedestrian access on a variety of sites.
Concrete barriers
Concrete barrier blocks or jersey barriers are a simple and effective way to
secure a building site against unwelcome visits from trespassers, vandals, or fly-tippers. Due to their weight, they can provide a robust barrier around areas of
water or other hazardous spaces. Temporary concrete road barriers can be a useful tool to safely control traffic flow, protecting both the passing public
and site operatives. For more information about concrete barrier blocks click here.
Water filled barriers
Water filled barriers are sturdy plastic barriers often used on
construction sites for safety and separation and around road works to guide
traffic, provide temporary roadblocks and protect passers-by. When they’re
empty they can easily be stacked, stored and transported, ready to be filled on
site when required.
All of the barriers available from SafeSite Facilities can
be interlocked, enabling the construction of a solid, straight line and
corners, as needed, for maximum safety and security. The water-filled barriers
come fitted with anti-tamper plugs and an anti-climb finish is available as an
additional option to ensure once the safety barriers are installed they’ll stay
put. For more information about water filled barriers click here.
Street works barriers
and accessories
As well as heavy-duty concrete and water-filled road
barriers, SafeSite Facilities also provides a selection of street works
barriers designed to prevent accidents in or around excavations. Access ramps
and speed bumps are also available in addition to ground protection options to
help ensure land looks its best once construction is complete.
