Housebuilders are showing a keen interest in specifying Celotex Thermaclass Cavity Wall 21 for use in traditional build cavity walls.
Celotex Thermaclass[AT1] Cavity Wall 21 is a tested full-fill cavity wall application that enhances thermal performance. It is a polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board, with a thermal performance 0.021 W/m.K, improving the achievable U value.
This BBA certified high-performance solution, which is part of Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions’ product portfolio, features a low emissivity foil facing and can be installed with up to a 10mm residual cavity, to support ease of installation and accommodate mortar squeeze, or as a full fill [AT2] solution with no residual cavity.
For installers, the boards are light and rigid to make transportation, handling and fitting easier. The board sizes are designed to fit within cavity wall tie spacings and can be cut if necessary.
Engineered tongue and groove board edges maximise the thermal qualities of the product, resist water penetration, and remove requirements for taping joints, when installed according to the Saint-Gobain Interior Solutions’ Installation Guide.
Available in thicknesses of 90mm, 115mm and 140mm, Celotex Thermaclass[AT3] Cavity Wall 21 provides a continuous layer of insulation which can be used in new housing construction, renovation projects and to replace insulation in existing homes. It means developers can not only meet new energy efficiency standards, but also reduce the overall thickness of the walls, meaning valuable floor area is not sacrificed.
