British Gypsum’s Gyproc SoundBloc plasterboard offers the ultimate lining solution, perfect for creating comfortable homes. Specifically designed with a high-density core to help housebuilders provide homes with higher levels of acoustic comfort, Gyproc SoundBloc is extremely effective in reducing airborne noise transmission through walls and floors.
To help achieve this, British Gypsum has designed two systems to help reduce the level of sound between rooms adjacent to one another, and separate noise between upstairs and downstairs to help reduce noise transfer between the floors of a busy household.
Its silent floor partition system, GypFloor Silent can be created by separating the ceiling structure from the floor joists. Two layers of 15mm Gyproc SoundBloc boards, 100mm Isover Spacesaver Ready Cut insulation and Gypframe RB1 Resilient Bars are then installed to provide the ideal solution to reduce noise travel between rooms that sit directly above one another.
To achieve higher levels of acoustic performance within a house and reduce the amount of noise that enters a room, internal walls can be upgraded by using a wider stud (at least 70mm) and a double layer of 15mm Gyproc SoundBloc and 50mm Isover APR 1200 positioned in the cavity.
Gyproc SoundBloc plasterboards are available with different characteristics depending on the project. These include improved fire protection and resistance to moisture. The range also comes in two thicknesses, 12.5mm and 15mm, and a choice of lengths starting at 2400mm.
