Paul DeCort

Paul joined the public sector in 1985 from a marine engineering and seafaring background.  Since then Paul has held a variety of posts in the former Property Services Agency and subsequently the Ministry of Defence associated with the procurement and control of construction and building services contracts.

Experience over the years has included site based management for a range of new build and refurbishment projects, energy and facilities management and a technical support role developing standards and guidance.

More recently Paul has been working at CLG in the policy team responsible for the 2005 and 2006 amendments of the energy efficiency provisions in Part L of the Building Regulations and implementation of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

Paul is now leading the team currently reviewing Part L and the ventilation provisions in Part F of the Building Regulations and CLG aim to consult soon on the proposed changes planned for introduction in 2010.
