Matthew Kirkman is the Director of Infrastructure Solutions in Openreach.
An exceptional senior executive operating at board level in a variety of challenging roles within Openreach Ltd and BT Plc. A seasoned executive with significant P&L and funding responsibility delivering outstanding business results along with a proven track record in leading transformational change. Matthew is passionate, and committed to his work, and shows a high degree of adaptability and resilience in challenging situations.
Matthew has over 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry and is considered an inspirational leader with utmost customer focus.
As the Director of Openreach’s Infrastructure Solutions, Matthew manages the firm’s relationship with housing developers, and industry bodies, and drives the ‘New Sites’ strategy. He’s responsible for all network rearrangement, customer network solutions (that’s selling bespoke customer infrastructure solutions and fully funded Openreach network), and for the business’s ‘Community Fibre Partnerships’ programme. He’s also accountable for brownfield multi-dwelling unit engagement and manages customer service for the business.
Prior to this, Matthew was BT Group Procurement’s VP for Openreach, BT Wholesale, Group Services before leading Openreach’s Cable Recovery programme.
Matthew has four children and is a keen cyclist and swimmer
