Karen Cooksley

Karen has over 20 years' experience and a strong reputation in relation to the delivery of major projects and for developing constructive relationships with the clients for whom she works. She advises all stakeholders in the planning process including local and central government, RSLs, private sector developers, the third sector, and development agencies, waste and energy companies, the NHS and funding institutions.


Karen is currently advising a number of clients in relation to effective public consultation in the planning process in the age of new social media such as internet access, facebook , twitter etc.


Karen is regarded as a leading expert in structuring, drafting and negotiating complex sl06 agreements and was involved in developing and negotiating the s106 tariff framework agreement in Milton Keynes to deliver much need housing and infrastructure in the Growth Area.


In recent years Karen has advised on a wide variety of planning and environmental projects.
Springfield Hospital Site for NHS Mental Health Trust - advising on the regeneration of a major central London hospital site, situated on Metropolitan Open Land.  It is Victorian mental asylum, with a number of listed buildings.  The scheme envisages the development of around 1,500 homes, associated facilities and the provision of modern mental health facilities.
