John Owen

John is Deputy Director of Affordable Housing Regulation and Investment at DCLG. He began his career in the private sector before joining the civil service fast stream. He has spent over ten years working in Whitehall and has held various positions in HM Treasury, Ministry of Justice and Deputy Prime Minister's Office. He has worked on a broad range of issues from setting up the Help to Buy scheme and working on the reforms to pensions annuities to criminal justice policy and constitutional reform. He has been in his present role at DCLG since May 2015.
