Jim Ward is director of residential research and consultancy at Savills; having worked in property research and consultancy for more than 30 years.
He provides research based development advice on land across the UK, working alongside the 600+ people in the Savills development, planning and new homes teams. He is responsible for Savills land and development reports and led Savills advice to the London Land Commission. Recently published reports include an analysis of the property markets of the Cambridge/ Milton Keynes/ Oxford corridor for the National Infrastructure Commission, an analysis of land value uplift around infrastructure investment for Transport for London, and a report to the British Property Federation on the potential to boost housing supply via Build to Rent.
Previously he has worked for the HCA on viability testing of Community Infrastructure Levy and been a member of the Harman working group on viability testing of Local Plans. He sits on the advisory board of the Cambridge Centre for Housing and Planning Research.
