Dale Saunders has over 30 years of experience in the house building industry, starting as a trainee in the technical department at Bovis Homes in Cheltenham. During his time in the house building industry, he has covered many roles in the design and technical function including house type design, construction detailing, specification and housing development layout design.
Currently Dale is the UK associate Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey head office which is a position he has held since the merger of Taylor Woodrow and George Wimpey in 2007 and prior to that design and technical manager at George Wimpey from 2002.
Dale is heavily involved in construction detailing and specifications including energy performance of houses and regulatory compliance. As part of this role Dale sits on a number of industry work streams/working parties in particular those surrounding the building regulations and statutory consultations. The most prominent of the groups that Dale sits on is arguably the HBF Technical and Sustainability Committee which he is currently chair of. In addition Dale chairs the HBF Future Performance of New Homes Group and sits on the NHBC standard review committee, NHBC Building Control Industry Support Group and Robust Details Standard Committee amongst others. Previously Dale also took part in many work groups ran by the Zero Carbon Hub, NHBC and MHCLG around zero carbon homes.
