Anna Scothern, National Centre for Excellence in Housing

Anna is Director of the National Centre for Excellence in Housing, based at the Building Research Establishment.


Anna joined the NCEH in August 2006, and successfully launched the joint venture partnership in December that year, at an event attended by the industry\'s key influencers and decision makers.


Prior to joining the NCEH she was the head of Residential Buildings at The Concrete Centre. There she worked on promoting the voice of the concrete sector in many areas, but principally on sustainability in the residential housing industry, focussing on energy efficiency, sustainable communities, "Modern Methods of Construction", and the reduction of carbon emissions.


Anna began her career in construction working for RMC Ltd, now Cemex, initially lecturing on cement and concrete technology. Later she was engaged in preparing and implementing strategic marketing plans for new and innovative product development, together with developing brand positioning and direction strategies.
