Slow housing market keeps consumer inflation stable

Lower furniture costs, due to a slow housing market, offset rising airfares to keep consumer price inflation unchanged for the third month in a row. The annual rate for consumer inflation held steady at 1.6%, as discounting on the high street countered increasing utility bills, driven up by rising oil prices. (FT)
