Mortgage approvals up but still down from last year – BBA

The number of mortgage deals approved in April rose slightly from March, but the number was significantly down on last April’s statistics, the British Bankers Association (BBA) has reported. BBA’s figures revealed that in April, 38,704 mortgage deals were approved by banks, compared to 35,546 the previous month.
