London boosts national house prices

London provided the impetus for a 0.1% national house price rise in January, according to Hometrack. Prices in London rose by 0.2%, with most places remaining unchanged in the wake of the festive season. The rise comes despite a seasonal drop in activity levels of 13.7%.
