Latest ODPM housebuilding statistics for the quarter to September indicate total starts (45,400) and completions (38,500) are up 13% on last year's figures. During the twelve months to the end of September 2004 starts numbered 171,100 and completions totalled 151,600 - up 9% and 8% respectively on last year.
