Housing shortfall set to hit 1.7 million by 2021

England needs 215,000 new homes a year to be built for the next 20 years to address the housing shortage in the country. Last year just 130,000 houses were completed in England, a shortfall of 85,000 homes. At this rate the shortfall will be 1.7 million by 2021.
