Hometrack sees house price rise but figures do not tell full story

House prices rose 0.1% in August, the first monthly increase since July 2007 according to Hometrack’s latest survey. For the past three months, Hometrack’s survey has shown prices to be staying the same. The year-on-year growth rate stands at -6.7%.
