Labour leader Ed Miliband has appointed Hilary Benn as shadow communities and local government secretary, replacing Caroline Flint who moves to energy and climate change. Mary Creagh remains as environment secretary and the senior positions are also unchanged - Ed Balls, shadow chancellor; Yvette Cooper, shadow home secretary; and Douglas Alexander shadow foreign secretary.
