Affordability hits 16 year low

Mortgage affordability is at its worst level for 16 years according to Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) figures. The typical first time buyer spent 18.3% of their income on mortgage interest repayments in March, up from 16% in the previous year. This is the highest level since 1991.
