Hints & Tips for a Winning Entry

The judges are looking for standout entries so to impress them you should;

  1. Make Your Entry Stand Out
    Present your entry in a way that reflects its quality. Ensure it’s polished, professional, and ready to win a Housebuilder Product Award.
  2. Stick to the Word Limit
    Adhere to the 500-word limit. Be concise and impactful in your submission—this helps the judges focus on your key points.
  3. Include High-Quality Images
    A picture can convey a lot—feel free to include images within the main entry. Be strategic and use them to highlight key features of your product. The judges will see your images first, so make sure they are high-quality, clear, and in full colour. Well-chosen images make a strong visual impact.
  4. Craft a Well-Written Submission
    The quality of writing matters. Have your best writer or a professional agency compose the entry. A compelling narrative can set your product apart.
  5. Meet the Criteria
    Clearly show the judges how your product meets these specific standards and highlight its strengths. The criteria for each category can be found above.
  6. Include Testimonials
    Third-party endorsements add credibility. Include strong testimonials from customers or experts. These can be included in your main submission (in addition to the 500-word description but inclusive of 4 pages).
  7. Avoid Generic Entries
    Ensure your submission is tailored specifically for the Housebuilder Product Awards. Rehashed press releases or generic entries will not impress the judges.
  8. Provide Supporting Materials
    Additional materials like product brochures, detailed specs, or videos can be helpful. Briefly mention in your submission what supplementary materials are available. If submitting a video link, keep it under 5 minutes. A link to a video (YouTube or Vimeo) showcasing your product. If password-protected, please share the password. Please avoid sending links that expire.
